Spot on summation of Todd at The Triple Door. Thanks for an excellent read.
Driving back to Canada yesterday my husband and I wore big silly smiles all the way to the border - we just so enjoyed the show....but our smiles soon faded with the realization we might miss the 3pm ferry back to the Island.
Oh Canada.
Since I am not one of those FANS who has pictures of myself alongside the master (sigh..), I had to suffice with touching his shoe. Again. I think that just makes me a sick fan.
Fascinated by your excellent blog, by the way. Thanks for the tip, Perry.
Website? Uhhh, nope. Unless you would be interested in the website for the non-profit I work for. www.coolaid.org

Came across this older post and couldn't resist... Listen, death happens, it's a fact of life. We can all worry about WMD's, health problems and a lot more. But the present is what we can control and more importantly we can control our thoughts. Working together and living in harmony will go a long way. Stuff happens that we have no control over, so we might as well live right.

Yes. A neighbor, whose bird knowledge is huge, came by and corrected our enthusiasm--I thought it was odd that there'd be a peregrine falcon so low to the ground for so long ...

Thanks for speaking up.

Ah. The two different kinds of "running." What a distinction you have made, Leila.

I miss that kind of running, too. In the middle of a snowstorm in Spokane. The time that the volcanic ash started drifting from the sky...in the middle of my run. .

A beautiful post.

This bird isn't a peregrine falcon, but a young sharp-shinned hawk. Seeing a peregrine falcon in your backyard would be extremely rare. Sharp-shinned hawks, on the other hand, love to hang around backyards because they feed on songbirds that come to feeders. You can tell this is a young sharp-shinned hawk because of the heavy streaking on the belly, the white spots on the brown back, the large dark bands on the tail, and the large brown eye. Also, though you can't see it from this picture, a sharp-shinned hawk has a squared-off tail.

Dennis, click on the image and it will Grow :-)

Everyone should visit Elke for this. I was a bit of a doubter for a long time and I am still trying to articulate what an Aura Portrait really is--because "portrait" doesn't fairly sum it up.

It's like by painting and describing my outer layers, Elke unveiled my inner layers.

Your beach in Mexico looks big; your candy wrapper looks big; but your "this is me" looks small... I would like a closer look:-)

So what was marvelous about the experience? I'm thinking of a trip up to see Elke myself and would like to know what it was like for you then and since.
